Vila de Cucujães, Aveiro · Since 1974

Our story.

Three generations

A story that began in 1974, built across three generations of a single family.

D’HÉRITAGE is a Portuguese clothing house, founded in Vila de Cucujães, Aveiro. It is born of a family with more than fifty years of experience in textile manufacturing — and of a clear refusal to let that legacy end.

What we make today is the result of decades of practice, demand and continuous refinement. Of knowledge passed from one generation to the next, and of an unwavering commitment to the quality of our work.

A workshop, a family, a beginning.

After years as a market trader — building relationships, listening to customers, learning the trade — Mário Pimenta Gonçalves opened his own company.

Inside the workshop, his wife held the daily operation together with discipline and consistency. Outside of it, Mário grew the business client by client, in a time when every opportunity had to be earned through presence, trust, and the proof of the product itself.

In time, the company grew. The team expanded, orders multiplied, and the standards rose with them.

The second generation.

José Henrique Gonçalves — son of Mário, father of Diogo — joined the management of the company. He had grown up inside the business: client visits, supplier meetings, warehouse runs, production decisions.

His apprenticeship was made in direct contact with the demands of the trade — the kind of education that cannot be taught, only lived.
